Advisor to Pence withdraws Following Trump objects

"And with the help of groundbreaking technologies that are advanced by America's private enterprise we know we will go faster and at a lower cost to taxpayer than ever before", Pence told the audience.

Vice President Mike Pence, attending an worldwide summit on Saturday, said he backs President Trump's assertion earlier in the day that the USA -led airstrikes this weekend in Syria resulted in "mission accomplished".

In condemning the US-led attack, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad insisted on Saturday that the missile strikes would only strengthen his nation's resolve to keep its fight against Western-backed terror groups and "crush terrorism in every inch of the nation".

Pence said the US, Britain and France "delivered a clear and unambiguous message to the Syrian regime".

Pence, however, justified the attack by merely stating that the U.S. did not act alone, claiming that other leaders at the Latin American summit had both publicly and privately expressed support for the Syria bombardment.

In a speech today (April 16), Pence announced that the National Space Council will soon send President Donald Trump new recommendations to address the growing threat of space junk circling Earth. He said the United States and its allies "will not tolerate the use of chemical weapons against innocent men, women, and children".

For his part, Pence thanked Canada for backing the strikes and echoed Trump, British Prime Minister Theresa May and French President Emmanuel Macron in saying Syria's chemical-weapons facilities had been "degraded and crippled". But when Trump got wind of the agreement, he became furious.

The US Vice President said the topic of funding for the border wall did not come up in the meeting, while acknowledging that the two countries have differences.
