Declan Donnelly Gets Standing Ovation After Presenting 'Saturday Night Takeaway' Alone

The presenter will be without Ant McPartlin for the penultimate episode in the series although Scarlett Moffatt and Stephen Mulhern will be on hand in their regular support roles.

Last week's show was cancelled following Ant's arrest but this week's episode and the finale episode next week (April 7) will be aired.

In a complete surprise, Diane's three children joined her on the show - one of her sons sang with the cast of Jersey Boys especially for his mum; her daughter overcame her fear of flying to she could enjoy a holiday with her mum; and her other son presented her with lost sister Carol Anne.

He said: "Whilst I never thought I'd be in this position, after much discussion and careful consideration we've decided that the remaining two shows of this series ofSaturday Night Takeaway will go ahead".

"We're going to crack on and say hello to our guest announcer, Stephen Merchant". "Any chance I should come down and maybe announce from down there?"

But Dec shot him down, quipping: "Thanks but no".

Bosses are also said to be considering not discussing the matter at all, and get Dec to continue with the show as normal.

He tweeted: "All rehearsals done, your #SaturdayNightTakeaway will be ready in an hour!"

The presenter has now returned to rehab in a bid to get back to full health, leaving Dec to front the show alone. "See you on the telly at 7pm. D x".

Another added: "Can't wait!"

And referencing Dec's first solo effort, he assured him: "I don't care what the producers are saying back here - I think you're doing a great job". You'll smash it like always! "Love you guys", wrote another.

Declan Donnelly hosted ITV's Saturday Night Takeaway solo for the first time this evening, after his sidekick Ant prepares for court following his drink driving accident.
