Trailer For Final Season Of 'House Of Cards' Released

Season six will see Robin Wright (who plays Claire Underwood) take over as programme lead, after former star Spacey was sacked from the show in November 2017 following allegations of sexual misconduct. Netflix terminated Kevin's contract and eventually rewrote the last season so that the new main character would be Mrs Claire Underwood played by Robin Wright.

The trailer, which was released on Monday, lasts less than a minute. In the teaser, Claire turns around from behind the desk and says, "We're just getting started".

"Hail to the Chief" reads the next title card, leaving no question as to who is President in the House of Cards universe now.

Issuing a joint statement back on Monday October 30, 2017 Netflix and Media Rights Capital confirmed that Spacey was not now on the House of Cards set.

"House of Cards", which took a three-month hiatus to make the necessary changes for its final season, is expected to return to Netflix this fall, CNN reported. Interesting term of phrase as it is the show's final season. By the end of season 5, Frank Underwood has resigned, leading the way for Claire to become president. Her icy queen demeanour has remained consistent through the show and while she was earlier sharing the screen space with Kevin Spacey, now, the show will be completely focused on her.

However, it appears as though the series' creators and writing team were able to ring out a season's worth of ideas to explore, all while sending the show off in a respectable and serviceable manner. And they're just getting started.

In an interview with Buzzfeed, actor Anthony Rapp - who stars in the new Star Trek: Discovery series - claimed that Spacey made unwanted sexual advances on him at a party when he was 14.

If that isn't enough to get you excited for the show's final eight episodes, nothing is.
