Silicon Valley billianaire Thiel reportedly to move business to Los Angeles

The billionaire entrepreneur - a member of the PayPal Mafia, Facebook's first outside investor and venture capitalist with his fingerprints all over Silicon Valley - has always been known for his libertarian views, but what thrust him into the center of the valley's political and cultural wars was his support of President Trump.

USA conservative billionaire tech investor Peter Thiel was reported to move himself and his investment firms from Bay Area close to San Francisco to Los Angeles, both in the western coast of the country.

He's also planning to move Thiel Capital and Thiel Foundation to new headquarters in the city. Founders Fund and Mithril Capital, which he co-founded, will stay in San Francisco.

Venture capitalist Peter Thiel is moving to Los Angeles and considering leaving Facebook's board of directors, according to The Wall Street Journal. The two had disputes over Thiel's support for President Trump, according to the article.

Thiel, who is a member of Facebook's board had already sold more than $1 billion worth of its stock before the filing made in late November.

The only major name in Silicon Valley to back President Donald Trump, some have called for Thiel's removal from Facebook's board.

Since Trump took office, Thiel has become increasingly disappointed with the liberal politics in San Francisco and Silicon Valley, the Journal reported.

Despite saying he wouldn't voluntarily leave Facebook's board in 2017, people close to Thiel told the Journal that his thoughts have changed in recent months as he's grown frustrated with Silicon Valley's culture. "That's when you get in trouble politically in our society, when". The decision underscores a growing divide between the outspoken tech industry conservative and Silicon Valley.
