South African Breweries has pledged to bottle and distribute 12 million bottles of water in Cape Town.

The measures follow nearly three years of water shortages, Cape Town's rainfall dams are sitting at 27 percent full.

As the dam levels continue to drop drastically, officials were forced to set the "day zero" as April 12, forcing locals to scramble for makeshift solutions.
