Two Killed in Grambling State University Shooting in Louisiana

Two people were shot dead Wednesday morning, at Grambling State University, in Northern Louisiana, according to authorities. The Lincoln Parish Sheriff's Office has launched an investigation.

Williams told CBS that a few witnesses have come forward to help with the investigation and police are still trying to piece together what happened.

"It was an altercation that started inside one of the dorm rooms and spilled out into the courtyard", Williams said.

Grambling State University Director of University Communications Will Sutton said the casualties were Earl Andrews, a senior at GSU, and Monquiarious Caldwell, who was not an understudy. The other man killed was Monquiarius Caldwell, 23.

The two casualties were articulated dead at the scene.

According to ABC News, the suspect fled the scene following the shooting and has not been apprehended.

A gunman is at large following a shooting at Grambling State University, which occurred just after midnight on Wednesday. Sheriff's Department said that it does not believe that the shooter was a student at the university.

"It's a terrible thing to happen on any day of the week, any week", Sutton said.

"Our prayers are with the victims and their families", Sutton said. "Violence has no place on our campus", said Sutton. We always encourage our students to be safe, to be aware, watch who they hang out with, and watch who's around at all times.
