Paddock's Girlfriend Says She Did Not Know About His Plans

Paddock's girlfriend, Marilou Danley, was questioned by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday and said in a statement she had been unaware of Paddock's plans.

Marilou Danley, Paddock's girlfriend, issued a statement Wednesday afternoon through her attorney, Matt Lombard.

The poster states that Benjamin Hoskins Paddock, known also by several aliases including "Big Daddy", "Chromedome" and "Old Baldy", was convicted of bank robbery and automobile theft. "She was away so that she will not be there to interfere with what he's planning", the sister said. More than 500 people were injured.

"What we know is Stephen Paddock is a man who spent decades acquiring weapons and ammo, and living a secret life, much of which will never be fully understood", the sheriff said. "I loved him and hoped for a quiet future together with him".

Lombard says she was not expecting the money and anxious that he was breaking up with her.

Danley arrived back in the USA from her native country - the Philippines - Tuesday night. Police don't know if the devices were transmitting - the FBI is investigating their use - but the Clark County sheriff said he thinks Paddock might have used them to watch for people approaching his room.

"She was sent away. Because Steve is not here to talk anymore, only Marilou can maybe help". But if someone wants to build up acache of rifles the way Paddock did, they could do so without anyone noticing.

Lombardo said the investigation is proceeding cautiously in case criminal charges are warranted against someone else. "She probably was even (more) shocked than us because she is more closer to him than us", her sister said. Still, the sister left open the possibility that the interview would be helpful to investigators. She was out of the country during the shooting and returned to the United States on Tuesday night from the Philippines.

Danley was out of the country at the time of Sunday's attacks and said Paddock sent her to see her family in her native Philippines.

She arrived in Manila on Sept. 15, flew to Hong Kong on 22 September, returned to Manila on 25 September and was there until she flew to Los Angeles on Tuesday night, according to a Philippine immigration official. "We met quite a few people and believe me, they are very lucky to be here".

The workers behind the counter at the Starbucks inside the Virgin River Casino in Mesquite, Nev., winced whenever Stephen Paddock and his girlfriend, Marilou Danley, lined up for their usual beverages.

"She is a good person and gentle soul".
