Meet Amazon's new Echo devices

On Wednesday, Amazon disclosed that Google had pulled YouTube functionality from the Echo Show, which had access to the video player since its launch in June.

Having a hub inside the Echo itself means that you no longer need this additional hub plugged into your router.

Echo plus is an upgrade to the original Amazon Echo.

Echo Spot features second generation far-field technology with four microphones, acoustic beam-forming technology, and enhanced noise cancellation so it can hear you from across the room-even while music is playing. The Echo Show differs from other devices in that it includes a screen to display images and a camera for video-calling purposes.

Google subsequently denied making a sudden decision regarding Echo Show compatibility. The company might be considering doling out new products to stay relevant versus Amazon, which has released a slew of new Echo devices lately.

The Google Smart Screen rumours might point to a good reason for why Google recently broke YouTube compatibility on the Amazon Echo Show.

Are you looking for a "smart screen" home automation hub similar to the Amazon Echo Show? Or use Echo Spot in the kitchen to easily set and view timers, call friends and family, see shopping and to do lists, and more.

It is unlikely that your Echo will suddenly start blasting out the weather report, but it may make a tone sound, or light up part of the ring on your device. This device has a price tag of $35. Unlike Amazon, Google has a mobile platform, and therefore, its assistant is essentially mobile rather than confined inside the house.

Considering Google is still trying to optimize and develop the Google Assistant, the recent reveals secured Amazon the top spot in the race.

Spilling of the beans on the Google's Echo Show killer progressed rapidly yesterday evening. Google's project to produce a similar piece of hardware is code-named Manhattan and sources indicate there is considerable pressure on the team to release it to market before the end of 2017.

The first Echo device to be equipped with a screen, the Amazon Echo Show is able to show you a wealth of information that would be impossible on a regular Amazon Echo.
