Odell Beckham Jr. will possibly miss the Giants season opener

Odell Beckham Jr.is in danger of missing the September 10 game against the Cowboys after suffering a sprained ankle in Monday's preseason game against the Browns.

ESPN's sources said Beckham will miss the final two preseason games and possibly the first two regular season games.

New York Giants fans across the country held their breath when star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was hit low by Cleveland Browns cornerback Briean Boddy-Calhoun in the team's second preseason outing Monday night.

McAdoo said Beckham underwent an MRI, and X-rays on Marshall's shoulder were negative. It's never a good start to the season with an injury, especially an ankle for a receiver. Odell Beckham has an ankle.

The Giants have 17 of those days until they play the Cowboys Sept. 10. Beckham nearly certainly will not play in the preseason game against the Jets on Saturday, which is expected to be a dress rehearsal for the regular season opener. Perhaps he is coming to the realization that his 2017 offense so far looks too much like his 2016 offense, and he knows an National Football League offense can't just flip a switch when it wants to and morph into something it's not.

Quarterback Eli Manning needs Beckham fully healthy for the Giants to get back to the postseason and build on their 11-5 record in 2016.

Wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall did not practice with their New York Giants teammates Wednesday.

Last season, Beckham caught 101 passes for 1,367 yards and 10 touchdowns. "On offense, we definitely need to the work".
