'Avengers: Infinity War' to feature Gwyneth Paltrow, Jon Favreau

In the latest Marvel related news, a few images captured on the set of Avengers 4 have been released.

Pepper Potts was seen in "Spider-Man: Homecoming", making a brief return in her first appearance since "Iron Man 3" in 2013.

The tweet bills this as part of Avengers: Infinity War despite the untitled Avengers 4 now being filmed.

Fans were also quick to point out that sadly the news nearly guarantees that Paltrow may not return for another film, as usually in Marvel films once two characters get engaged, they end up being killed off.

Production on the untitled Avengers 4 is now well underway.

Filming for the superhero tentpole already wrapped, so Gwyneth's scenes either were late add-ons, or were part of the Infinity War sequel that is being shot back-to -back with part one.

Another interesting note is the chest apparatus Downey Jr.is wearing behind the scarf.

Despite being one of the main characters in Iron Man, the film that kickstarted the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) has been absent in the franchise's recent entires.

Paltrow played Pepper in the Iron Man movies, The Avengers and Spider-Man: Homecoming, while Favreau appeared in the Iron Man films and Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Moreover, Happy Hogan (played by Jon Favreau) also makes startling reveal when he takes out an engagement ring, confirming that Tony has been waiting for the right moment for the proposal. Her absence was even factored in as a plot point in last year's Captain America: Civil War, leading many to wonder when the actress would appear again, or if she ever would. The movie will see Tony Stark and the Avengers unite with the Guardians of the Galaxy to confront Thanos.

Do you think Pepper's return to the MCU is a good sign? Anthony and Joe Russo return as directors.
