Mourinho Hoping To Sign One More Player To Complete Manchester United Team

Inter Milan sporting director, Piero Ausilio has stated that the club are looking to extend the contract of 28-year-old Croatian global, and that has dealt a blow to Manchester United who have been interested in taking him to Old Trafford, in a deal worth £40 million.

Jose Mourinho says he would be "much happier" should United sign a fourth player this summer but the club will not be held to ransom and could move onto other targets.

United's three major summer signings to date are all comfortably over six feet tall, with Nemanja Matic standing at 6ft 4in, Romelu Lukaku 6ft 3in and Victor Lindelof 6ft 2in.

"First of all, it is not true, talking about Antonio, that he has been questioned: never put on the market, together with him we are trying to build a great Inter", he told Premium Sport.

Piero Ausilio said: "I don't understand where some of these stories come from".

"He has said: 'Perisic is an important player and we're now discussing a new contract with him'".

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is on a collision course with the club's owners over their inability to land his transfer targets.

"Everybody knows because I said it, very objectively I would like four players and I asked for four players", he said last month.

"With Perisic we didn't win anything".

A deal was close to being agreed between United and Inter for a player who fits the classical Mourinho style.

Chelsea have been linked with Candreva but the Italian would only leave if a replacement is found. "Even if we sell him we will need to bring in another wide player".
