New Black Panther poster revealed at SDCC 2017

According to Collider, it featured "a casino stakeout gone wrong", where T'Challa and the squad are tailing Ulysses Klaue in a diamond exchange with CIA Agent Everett Ross. Creed and Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogler takes the reins for Black Panther, working from a script he penned with American Crime Story writer Joe Robert Cole.

The panel for Marvel took place at SDCC this weekend, where attendees were shown new footage from the upcoming Black Panther film.

"It begins with T'Challa walking through a metal detector and into a casino/nightclub".

Before the deal between the two can be intercepted, however, things get chaotic and T'Challa, Okoye and Nakia find themselves in a series of hand-to-hand fights. The footage changes into more of a trailer. A major plot point of the film would see T'Challa still mourning the loss of his father, and how he must learn to be king.

Coogler said he'd always had a fondness for comic books, and found "Black Panther" at a pivotal moment. "This show will show the world what Black Panther is all about". Another specific scene in the trailer reveals how a new Black Panther costume is formed with the new Wakandan technology he receives. There's a big vehicle chase on a busy street with neon signs all around. He thinks he has a better plan for how it should function and has his eyes on the throne. "It's a transition period that gets interrupted very quickly". Black Panther, played by Chadwick Boseman, is a character who was first introduced in Marvel Cinematic Universe in the film Captain America: Civil War, in which he sided with Iron Man's faction. For those who remember, Janet was hinted at in 2015's Ant-Man, with her whereabouts being unknown, so this either means that Van Dyne will be appearing in present-day or in some sort of flashback.

The film is directed by Ryan Coogler and also stars Michael B. Jordan as Erik Killmonger, Lupita Nyong'o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Daniel Kaluuya as W'Kabi, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Winston Duke as M'Baku, Angela Bassett as Ramonda and Forest Whitaker as Zuri. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T'Challa's mettle as king-and Black Panther-is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk.

Along with that footage came a new poster featuring T'Challa standing atop a black panther statue, overlooking the African nation of Wakanda.
