Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to be unveiled on 23 August

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be unveiled at Unpacked event in New York City on August 23, the company confirmed in a tweet.

While the invitation does not reveal much, the tagline saying "Do bigger things" and the stylus most certainly points to the Galaxy Note 8.

What does that hint at? Of course, they won't be identical, as the Note also needs to make room for the S Pen.

The press invites Samsung has sent out looks very similar to the one sent out before the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8. In some markets such as the United States, the Galaxy Note 8 will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core SoC. There still are a few weeks to go until then but we already know a lot about the upcoming Note handset.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is expected to retain the same bezel-less dual-curved edge display found on the Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones.

Samsung Electronics has sent out invitations for August 23 unpacking of next phablet succeeding the ill-fated Galaxy Note7. AAPL is expected to announce the iPhone 8 in early September.

A second source, Mobile Fun, has also confirmed the presence of a rear fingerprint sensor with a number of case preorder listings on its website, first spotted by Forbes.

Best Buy will be retailing both the unlocked and carrier versions (Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T) of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and its larger model, according to Samsung's U.S. Newsroom. The smartphone will launch with company's Exynos 8895 processor in select markets. Moreover, since the launch-date also matches the previous rumors that stated that Samsung will be introducing its smartphone towards the end of August, it seems like the aforementioned statement might be true. Many expect the iPhone 8 to surpass that screen to body ratio when it launches.
