DiNardo gave Kratz a Smith and Wesson.357 handgun, which belonged to his mother.

Finocchiaro, Meo and Sturgis all knew each other, the AP reported, and news outlets have reported that cars belonging to two of the men have been located.

An attorney representing the couple issued a statement earlier on Wednesday (Thursday NZT) saying they sympathise with the families of the missing men and are cooperating "in every way possible with the investigation". "It is my hope that he does not post that but that is his prerogative of course if he can post it, but we're going to start looking seriously at the homicide charges and in fact we already have pursued that option".

The next day, July 8, the cousins returned to the farm and used a backhoe to dig a hole and bury the bodies still in the container.

Cadaver dogs this week led investigators to a 12-foot-deep "common grave" on DiNardo's family farm about 30 miles north of Philadelphia.

DiNardo told the investigators he had arranged a marijuana deal with Finocchiaro on July 7.

Dinardo, who was arrested for theft on Wednesday, confessed to his involvement in the killings the next day, his attorney Paul Lang said.

However, the district attorney said that only Dinardo has been charged in the death of Jimi Taro Patrick, 19, of Newtown Township, while both will face charges for the deaths of Dean Finocchiaro, 19, of Middletown Township; Thomas Meo, 21, of Plumstead Township; and Mark Sturgis, 22, of Pennsburg, Montgomery County.

"They are tenderly, painstakingly and reverentially recovering the remains of people they do not know and never even met", he said. "We wanted to be supportive and comforting for our community", said Bucks County resident Wyatt McLeod.

"We have so much more to do to bring justice in this case", Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub told reporters Friday.

Dinardo and Kratz are cousins, the criminal complaint states.

DiNardo shared images of himself with a maniacal expression and wielding a gun as he participated in a private Snapchat group with local youths.

DiNardo, the son of the farm property's owners, was being held on $5 million cash bail before his confession, accused of trying to sell one of the victims' cars. Investigators said that as the three left a barn area of the property, Kratz shot Finocchiaro in the head and DiNardo took the gun and shot him again.

Police say the two suspects are cousins. The Dinardo family owns a cement and construction company called Cosan LLC. They walked to a remote part of the property, where Dinardo said he fatally shot Patrick with a.22 caliber rifle, according to the affidavit. However, Kratz told police that Dinardo was the one who shot Finocchiaro.

On the last night Meo and Sturgis were seen, a police license plate scanner picked up DiNardo's truck and Meo's vehicle driving just seconds apart. Sturgis was shot as he tried to run away and fell to the ground.

Dinardo allegedly poured gasoline into the tank and lit it, the complaint says. Dinardo then used the backhoe to pick up the men's bodies, then put them into "the pig roaster" where they too were burned, court documents say.

Prosecutors filed the charges Friday against Cosmo DiNardo and Sean Kratz.

"They have also been charged with robbery, abuse of corpse and possession of instrument of crime", said Weintraub.

The earlier charge stems from accusations DiNardo was found with a shotgun and ammunition in February despite a prior mental health commitment.
