EA dismisses Mass Effect DLC cancellation rumours

Yesterday, a group claiming to be called Sinclair Networks said that they had been hired to work on Mass Effect: Andromeda's DLC until BioWare cancelled it. While it's nearly traditional to see post-release content launched for Mass Effect games, it appears that Andromeda is going to break the cycle.

Rumors have recently been circulating that Mass Effect: Andromeda will not be getting any single-player DLC, and while a major source of those was previously debunked, Kotaku has now confirmed through various sources that the fake rumors unfortunately did guess correctly.

According to the research, although the publication of Facebook was a hoax, it brought to light the delicate situation that the title lives on because according to sources, BioWare closed all type of project that involved the expansion of Mass Effect: Andromeda, even a possible sequel.

The post claimed that BioWare tapped the studio to create three DLCs for Mass Effect: Andromeda, but due to several issues such as heavy critique against the game and staff reductions in Montreal, all outsourced work will instead focus on the developer's next major game, Anthem. This is definitely disturbing and disheartening news because I know many people were looking forward to exploring other parts of Andromeda. The information comes from a now deleted post on Facebook by Sinclair Networks.

Andromeda Producer Fernando Melo asserted that BioWare crafts its own DLC, and he suggested that Sinclair Networks is not a real company. It's unfortunate for sure, as expanded story content in the past has been something fans have looked forward to, especially in the case of Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3.
