Questions with 'Spider-man: Homecoming' Director Jon Watts

Gizmodo points out that Peter Parker (Holland) was living just a short distance away from the New York City battle at the end of 2012's The Avengers, though Spider-Man: Homecoming reportedly sidesteps that topic. Speaking with Uproxxabout the highly anticipated Spider-Man movie, Watts was asked about the retconned Iron Man 2 Easter Egg and the director willingly opened up about how Marvel came up with the idea to confirm that the little boy in the movie was actually Peter.

The second clip is all about our hero in action, with Spider-Man swinging to save some of his fellow classmates at the Washington Monument.

Peter Parker will become a much bigger part of the MCU soon, when "Spider-Man: Homecoming" (a co-production between Spider-Man rights owner Sony and the Disney-owned Marvel Studios) swings into theaters July 7.
