Dashcam video shows officer firing 7 shots into Castile car

Police have released video footage of Philando Castile's fiancée Diamond Reynolds and her daughter sitting in the back of a police auto just moments after Castile was shot dead by officer Jeronimo Yanez.

It shows Jeronimo Yanez drawing his gun seconds after pulling Philando Castile over for a broken taillight in Falcon Heights last summer and rapidly firing seven bullets into the 32-year-old black man's vehicle while his girlfriend and her 4-year-old daughter helplessly watched.

The video shows Yanez firing seven shots in quick succession just seconds after Castile told him he had a gun.

Castile hands over a piece of paper to Yanez before he says, "Sir, I have to tell you: I do have a firearm on me".

"I'm not pulling it out", Mr. Castile says, and Ms. Reynolds also tries to assure Officer Yanez that her boyfriend is not grabbing the gun.

In the video, the now-former St. Anthony, Minn. police officer fires seven shots at Castile during a traffic stop. The video shows the brief interaction between Castile and police officer Jeronimo Yanez after Castile was pulled over.

The officer, who was acquitted by a jury on Friday after being charged with second-degree manslaughter and endangering safety by discharging a firearm, testified in court that he was fearful that Castile was reaching for a gun.

The newly-released footage shows Yanez having a calm conversation with Castile about why he pulled him over. Yanez warns Castile not to reach for the gun and pull it out, to which Castile replies "I'm not pulling it out".

The jurors in the Yanez trial deliberated for five days, and at one point were deadlocked, before finally deciding that the Minnesota police officer was not guilty.

Castile says that he's not reaching out for it while Yanez gets agitated and repeatedly says "don't pull it out" in the video.

Last week, the Minnesota cop who shot and killed Castile in July 2016 was acquitted of all charges. The family of Diamond Reynolds attorney, Larry Rogers, said Tuesday that Reynolds plans to review the evidence included in the Yanez case file before deciding whether she also will file a civil lawsuit.

"Every time I watch that video, the question I ask myself is, 'How?' - just how", Noah said.

Dashcam footage showing the controversial shooting death of Philando Castile was released on Tuesday by Minnesota authorities.

In the following moments, Yanez can be seen firing several shots into the auto while his partner - who is standing on the passenger side of the vehicle - flees from the area of the auto. The protesters marched against the acquittal of Officer Jeronimo Yanez, was found not guilty of manslaughter for shooting Castile during a traffic stop.

Yanez orders her not to move, then says, "F-", multiple times. Meanwhile, Castile's bullet-riddled body was pulled from the vehicle and laid on the street.

The jury had seen both videos, and still, it wasn't enough to convict Yanez.
