David Beckham's film cameo in King Arthur's here, everybody

There was some major father-son bonding at the European film premiere of King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.

David Beckham can do everything or nearly: of course footballer, but also good friend of his son, the heart of man with UNICEF and Good Samaritan for old ladies. "Where do you think I want you?" "Just heard a clip of Mr David Beckham in the new King Arthur film oh god it's cringe", said one Twitter user. "@Kingarthurmovie x VB." David stars in the film alongside Charlie Hunnam, Jude Law and Poppy Delevingne.

Beckham landing a role in "King Arthur: The Legend Of The Sword" - directed by his good friend Guy Ritchie - which is set to debut this May 19 in the United Kingdom, has been criticised by fans, judging by just a trailer released on Tueday.

Beckham said he enjoys the "challenge" of trying his hand at acting - but has no plans to take it up full time.

Hunnam added: "He came in and did a couple of episodes - maybe like five or six - and we just became pals".

He told the Press Association at the London event that it was the role he felt he was born to play. I don't know about you, but I would much rather see Ritchie doing one of his trademark crime ensemble pieces as compared to remaking yet another animated classic.

Earlier, Beckham shared a behind-the-scenes look from the set of Guy Ritchie's King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword in which he discussed the process of turning into his character, Trigger.

"And that, combined with him just being humble and kind and accessible, was very endearing". Optimism is nowhere to be found in Ritchie's movie itself. "I'm confident that at some stage it will reveal itself to me, but right now it's just a bit too premature". He noted that while the movie is meant to be accessible to audiences, it was also crucial to keep in mind the original King Arthur legend that dated back to the 5th and 6th centuries. Clearly he sees this as a version that will reflect our current contemporary sensibilities, and in that regard this go-round is very dark and dismal indeed.
