North Korea's official media - said the country on Saturday detained Kim Hak Song, an employee of the Pyongyang University of Science and Technology.

In a statement, Pyongyang University of Science and Technology said Kim was doing agricultural development work with the university's agricultural farm.

He is the second USA professor working at Pyongyang University of Science and Technology to be detained in recent months, taking the total number of US citizens detained by the state to four. Last week the north Koreans announced an accounting instructor at the same university, Tony Kim had also been detained. "When a USA citizen is reported to be detained in North Korea, we work with the Swedish embassy in Pyongyang" to try to secure their freedom. The Pyongyang regime of Leader Kim Jong Un, pretty much a one-trick pony with that steed being its nuclear weapon-missile program, has proved itself over the years to be very hard to deal with.
