Trump voters have positive opinion of president

"The American people gave us clear instructions, it's time to get busy, get to work and to get the job done", he said in a recent appearance.

This puts him at the bottom of the list of 12 presidents (himself included).

Experts believe Trump's immigration bans, increased military spending, and aggressive stance against both Syria and North Korea are major factors of the consistent support.

Aggregating the last 11 national surveys released between April 11-24, Real Clear Politics found that Trump's has an average approval rating of 41.8 percent while an average 52.5 percent disapprove of him.

But the onetime anti-establishment candidate who promised to "drain the swamp" in Washington appears to have recognised - with a mix of naivete and craftiness - that he has one of the most hard jobs in the world.

"There are some things I agree with President Trump on, and there are some things that I disagree with the president on", Flake said to those in attendance as some in the crowd shouted, "Shame on you!"

Stylistically, Trump remains much the same as during the campaign. Whose advice to heed?

"He's doing a great job", one supporter said.

In the past, however, presidents with a lower approval rating at 100 days have actually tended to fare better when seeking a second term.

In the choice of his teams as well as in some negotiations, a sort of "presidentialisation" seems to be unfolding - albeit haltingly.

And 54% said they did not have a problem with Trump working out of Mar-a-Lago in Florida.

On China, Russia and North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, his about-faces have - to some extent - reassured some Americans, and some of Washington's allies.

How has president Trump done at keeping true to his promise?

But his approach also includes risks. "Up till now the president has done exactly the reverse, and he didn't intend to, but he did".

"I think the 100 days is, you know, it's an artificial barrier", Trump told the AP on April 23.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. abruptly announces his retirement at the end of the season, a decision that will cost NASCAR its most popular driver as the series scrambles to rebuild its fan base.

He wrote of a president "ignorant of government, of history, of science, of philosophy, of art, incapable of expressing or recognizing subtlety or nuance. and wielding a vocabulary of 77 words". Also of note was the reaction to Trump's use of Twitter. Since then, he's restructured the configuration of several White House positions and made some notable appointments - including promoting son-in-law Jared Kushner to senior advisor status and bringing his daughter on staff as an (unpaid) assistant.

On Capitol Hill, majority Republicans muscled through Trump's nominee for the Supreme Court, Judge Neil Gorsuch, but had to blow up long-standing Senate rules to do so.

According to the survey, Trump's approval rating of 42 per cent is the lowest during the first 100 days of a United States presidency since that of Dwight D. Eisenhower back in 1953. Ironically, records show that the concept of a 100-day marker was something Trump previously applauded in many a campaign speech.
