BlackBerry KeyOne now available in the United Kingdom, exclusively from Selfridges

TCL's BlackBerry KeyOne, featuring a 35-key physical keyboard, launches in the US and Canada in May.

The BlackBerry KeyOne, an Android-based smartphone with a hardware keyboard, will be available in the USA and Canada from May 31, the phone's maker said Thursday. In Canada, the smartphone will be available for pre-orders starting May 18.

The May 31 launch date for KEYone sales in the us and Canada was announced Wednesday by TCL Communication. It has a 4.5-inch FullHD IPS touchscreen, an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor and 64-bit Adreno 605 GPU.

Keyboard addicts can get the phone in just over a month.

Latest update on April 27, 2017 at 07:53 AM by PaulRubens. Well, BlackBerry has released its successor (sort of) and it's called the BlackBerry KeyOne.

A new press release has revealed availability info for the BlackBerry KEYone in the United States and a few other markets.

There's also a 12-megapixel camera on the rear using the Sony IMX378 camera sensor - that's the same snapper fitted within the brilliant Google Pixel. This Blackberry phone has made its fans wait for some important reasons like the keyboard which none of the android phones have. There's 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, plus a MicroSD card slot.

The stock software keyboard on smartphones are pretty great right out of the box, but even if you don't prefer that experience, there are so many great options to choose from by third parties.

It also comes with BlackBerry's DTEK security software which monitors the operating system and apps, notifying owners when their privacy is at risk.

In a market of me-too handsets, BlackBerry has tried hard to deliver on the promise of a distinctly different smartphone and, for the most part, it succeeds.

The KEYone is the first BlackBerry device released under TCL Communication after a brand licencing agreement was struck between the two firms.

That strategy marks BlackBerry's "first significant step toward leading as a software company" rather than as a hardware development company, chief operating officer Ralph Pini wrote in a blog post a year ago.
