The truth is still out there, and creator Chris Carter has once again teamed up with Twentieth Century Fox to look for it.
Last year, Fox brought back The X-Files for an extremely short revival miniseries that left the fate of Fox Mulder up in the air. Filming for the upcoming series will begin in summer 2017 and the show is expected to air sometime in late 2017 or early 2018.
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will appear in the Season 11 of the iconic TV-series The X-Files, Fox Broadcasting Company producers confirmed the next season. Production will begin during the summer on the 10-episode event series, which features Duchovny and Anderson playing Federal Bureau of Investigation agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.
The series spawned two feature films, multiple television spinoff series, and several comic book and game tie-in projects before returning in 2016 for a six-episode tenth season.
The Plot: The X-Files follows Federal Bureau of Investigation special agents Scully (Anderson) and Mulder (Duchovny) as they investigate unexplained cases - "X-Files" - for which the only answers involve paranormal phenomena.
In another report by Deadline, the new "The X-Files" is noted to be the eleventh season now of the show.
