A source said: "Everything today couldn't have been done more amicably".

As for Jen. we're told she cares deeply for Ben, but his stint in rehab was the culmination of a hard period for the family and she too felt it's now the right time to end the marriage.

If rumours are to be believed, Affleck and Garner's divorce filing was "super amicable" and the couple had always planned to divorce.

Earlier reports from People magazine suggested that Ben was still in the family guesthouse and they were figuring it all out. One thing they agree on - the kids will stay at the family house, ' explained a source. In their divorce documents, they're seeking joint legal and physical custody of their children, remaining committed to co-parenting. They have been working at their relationship for the past few years. So the process could take six months to complete.

In terms of splitting their assets, they didn't have a prenup, so all their earnings will be divided up 50/50. By default, property is divided 50/50 in cases such as this, unless a mutual agreement between the couple states otherwise.

Jennifer and Ben would sometimes get intimate at the family's home while they were alone, after the kids went to bed, our source dished.
