RB Lynch could turn attention to Patriots

In all likelihood, the reported interest Lynch has in joining New England this year is just a play to get things going for him to join the Oakland Raiders. Former Viking Adrian Peterson visited New England last week, but left Foxborough without a deal.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said last week he recently talked to Lynch and confirmed the running back was considering a return to the NFL.

Even if Lynch were to un-retire, the Seahawks would have to release or complete a trade for Lynch to be on another team in 2017.

Macklemore has one request for Marshawn Lynch. The Raiders salary cap space would allow a Lynch trade without worrying too much about the bottom line, but it would certainly come with a high dollar value. Rex Burkhead figures to be the Patriots' top option as the Patriots' between-the-tackles runner this season, but Lynch would offer more of a track record of success in that role.

LeGarrette Blount may be getting salty because he hasn't signed a contract. You'll remember that prior to their victory in Super Bowl XLIX over the Seattle Seahawks, the Patriots had lost their prior two Super Bowls, both to the Giants. Coming back for Super Bowl glory seems so unlike him.

"It would make all the sense in the world for Butler to sign his tender right around April 21 and let the chips fall where they may", said Howe. It has opened the door for the current Marshawn Lynch to Patriots narrative as well, keeping Beast Mode on the front page of the National Football League for a bit longer.
