Prosecutors: Facebook assault victim was threatened with dog

A 15-year-old male, accompanied by his mother, turned himself in on Monday in connection with the March 19 attack, Chicago Police Department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi announced via Twitter late Monday. Each teen faces felony counts of criminal sexual assault, manufacturing of child pornography and dissemination of child pornography, Guglielmi added.

"Both videotaped these egregious actions", Gardner said. But they have said that, besides the cellphone camera that recorded the incident and streamed it live on Facebook, others at the scene also recorded the sexual assault.

Supt. Eddie Johnson reportedly said Sunday that the boys will be punished for the "absolutely horrific" attack on the young girl.

The boys threatened to have a pit bull attack the girl if she tried to get away, Gardner said. "I don't want to go too much into detail, but I'm going to say she was lured into the residence, and then from there, she was not allowed to leave and she didn't consent to what occurred".

Police are also trying to identify others who took part in the assault, officials said, but the investigation has been slowed by the trauma experienced by the girl.

The 15-year-old boy's lawyer, assistant public defender Liliana Dago, questioned that prosecutors had proven probable cause, particularly on the child pornography charges.

Police have said that a half dozen men assaulted the girl in March as they streamed it on Facebook Live.

Neither of the suspects nor the victim has been named due to their ages. And detectives, using a search warrant, searched the 14-year-old boy's Facebook profile and found he'd made admissions to participating in the attack.

Guglielmi said the boy would be later brought to a juvenile detention center where a 14-year-old boy who was arrested in the case over the weekend is being held.

Five people appeared in court on behalf of the boy, including his mother and another woman who was identified as his guardian.

"The victim knew one of the offenders", Chicago Police Cmdr. In a brief interview, the girl's mother said Monday her daughter remains at what police called the "safe place" and has not returned to school. At the moment, the Chicago authorities have arrested two suspects in the Facebook Live gangrape case but said that more individuals are under scrutiny. She was taken to Comer Children's Hospital and subsequently was reunited with her family.
