Mike Epps sorry for dancing with kangaroo on Detroit stage

The kangaroo onstage with Mike Epps was not handled properly at all times, and now a federal agency is reviewing video of the incident.

He later posted an apology note to his social media account, and said he would be donating to a kangaroo conservation charity.

TMZ reported the kangaroo belongs to Javon Stacks, who runs a traveling zoo.

Seemingly to capitalize on the viral sensation, the kangaroo was brought onstage during comedian Mike Epps' show at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit on Friday. It's unclear what the goal of the stunt was, but apparently a trainer brought the animal out of a cage and led it around on a leash while Epps and other people on the stage danced around.

'I didn't think Mike Epps playing with that kangaroo last night was amusing at all.

Epps, 47, was at the Festival of Laughs comedy tour when an animal handler came on stage with a kangaroo on leash. Despite the backlash, Stacks said the animal wasn't harmed and the harness he used was legal and preferable to a collar which could hurt the animal.

"Yeh look how nice Iam 2 him!" One social media user declared that it was "animal cruelty to have had the kangaroo on stage". "Theses guys are license zoo keepers!" he captioned a photo of himself feeding the kangaroo, according to a screenshot captured by The Shade Room.

TMZ has reached out to a rep for Epps for comment, but has yet to hear back.

Jovan Stacks, the owner of the kangaroo, said the animal is part of his exotic zoo business.
