1 dead in Vegas Strip shooting, gunman barricaded in bus

One person was killed and another injured during a bus shooting Saturday outside the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas - leading to standoff with the barricaded shooter on the Strip.

Hadfield said police were negotiating with the suspect Saturday afternoon in an effort to take him into custody, USA Today reported.

Initial reports claimed that an active shooter may have been present, but police say there are no active shooters at any nearby casinos. Police said they believe the shooter is on the bus. No further information was available on the shooting.

Las Vegas Boulevard is closed between Flamingo Road and Harmon Avenue. The Cosmopolitan has been evacuated.

A gunman has barricaded himself on a bus in Las Vegas after killing one person and injuring another. That part of the strip is where the luxury hotels The Bellagio and The Cosmopolitan are located.

The suspects in that incident wore black suits or tuxedos, police Lieutenant Carlos Hank told the Las Vegas Journal-Review.
