'Big Bang' Spinoff Sounds Like A Stroke Of Genius

With the Big Bang Theory nearing its conclusion, CBS has greenlighted a new series that is inspired by the hit comedy TV show.

Jim Parsons, who has played the role on Big Bang since its debut in 2007, will narrate the show as adult Sheldon.

Just in case the last ten years of Big Bang Theory wasn't enough for you, we're getting a spinoff. Sheldon (Jim Parsons) who is his financial manager told him that he is not able to afford to rent an costly and luxuries studio as Raj's parent will now no longer support him financially and they have stopped expanding their money on him so it can be hard to pay the rent of such an expensive studio for Raj.

So, who's playing the future world's worst flatmate? Sheldon will have "a very right-wing family, not used to this 10-year-old genius living in their midst", says CBS executive Leslie Moonves. "Big Bang" creator Chuck Lorre will serve as executive producer alongside Parsons, his partner, producer Todd Spiewak, and another "Big Bang" alum. Iain Armitage has been selected to play the role of the young and nerdy Sheldon Cooper.

Zoe will star as Mary Cooper, mum to Sheldon.

The show has been nominated for 29 Primetime Emmy Awards and won eight, including three Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series Awards for Jim Parsons in 2010, 2011 and 2014. Sheldon will also have a father, a twin sister, and older brother.

The original Big Bang has run for nine seasons, consistently bringing in huge audience shares for CBS since season three, entering syndicated on TBS, and performing well around the world.
