Calais Campbell and wife deciding between Broncos, Jaguars

It appears the inevitable is happening for the Arizona Cardinals as various reports surfaced Wednesday evening defensive stalwarts Calais Campbell and Tony Jefferson will both be departing via free agency.

With a new regime in place, and desperate to shake the culture of continual losing, a big offseason was imperative for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

After the team placed the franchise tag on outside linebacker Chandler Jones, speculation about Campbell leaving picked up.

I'm sure four years and $60 million also helped sweeten the deal a bit as well.

The Jacksonville Jaguars still have irons in the fire, looking to sign other free agents. At some point, a trade for tackle Branden Albert, which had been discussed with the Miami Dolphins, should become official.

"Chose Jags because Tom Coughlin is a victor, they brought in two other big free agents and they also have been drafting well the last few years", Campbell told ESPN's Josina Anderson.

The Jaguars have not made the playoffs since 2007 and have won just 11 total games since drafting quarterback Blake Bortles third overall in the 2014 NFL Draft.

The Jaguars appear to be making a splash on the defensive side of the ball for the second year in a row after signing Malik Jackson last spring to a five-year, $85.5 million dollar deal. Barry Church is an upgrade from Cyprien and will add another veteran presence in the secondary.
