Spotify takes a cue from Tidal with hi-fi streaming option

As you can see in the images above, Spotify is beginning to notify users about their lossless CD quality audio expansion entitled "Spotify Hi-Fi" which will cost somewhere between $5-$10 extra as users are reporting multiple different prices in that range.

There are quite a few music streaming services out there that are fighting to capture music lovers' attention and Spotify might be among the best known solutions.

Some Spotify users have been receiving notifications for a service called Spotify Hi-Fi. As the below image shows, some of the ads indicate Hi-Fi will also include a free vinyl record and discounts on vinyl purchases.

Moreover, if the monthly fee would be less than what Tidal is offering right now, then Tidal subscribers might transfer to Spotify. However those who have tried to sign up have reported that they were told it either wasn't available in their area or just received an error message. But since convenience will always trump quality, the world has been settling for "good enough" when it comes to the sound of music, especially when it comes to streaming. Spotify has to focus on other ways to bring added value and differentiate itself from its biggest competitor by adopting new features and capabilities.
