Johnny Manziel returns to court for domestic violence case

On Tuesday, he told a Dallas County judge as much - in the hopes of having a misdemeanor assault charge against him be dismissed.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Judge Roberto Cañas told Manziel on Tuesday that he's concerned the former National Football League quarterback isn't taking his conditional agreement seriously because he hasn't updated the court about his progress. Part of the deal required Manziel to stay away from his former girlfriend, Colleen Crowley.

Late a year ago, Manziel's domestic violence case was dropped but he had to complete certain conditions, such as participating in an anger management class and take part in the NFL's policy and program for substance abuse or a rehabilitation program.

Manziel had a court hearing in Dallas on Tuesday in which the presiding judge lectured him on his responsibilities moving forward. However pictures posted online showed the two at the same Florida nightclub on New Year's day.

A judge will review the terms of the deal and determine whether or not Manziel violated them. Manziel told the judge he's taking things seriously. I need to get my life in order.

Manziel then told the judge he was in the process of fixing the mess his life had become.
