Seahawks get away with warning for not listing Sherman injury

In deciding not to penalize the Seahawks, the National Football League determined the Seahawks merely misinterpreted the rules with Seattle thinking it did not have to disclose that Sherman had a knee injury because he did not miss practices or any game snaps due to the injury.

The Seattle Seahawks will receive no formal penalty for failing to report a meniscus injury for star cornerback Richard Sherman before a playoff game this year, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Sherman was not listed as on either the Practice Reports or the Game Status Reports with an injury, despite having battled a MCL issue throughout the second half of the season.

Back in September, Seattle lost a fifth-round pick for a violation of the regulations on offseason training activities.

This goes against the NFL's rules on reporting injuries.

But we can assume other teams will now think twice about keeping players' names off the injury report. "He never missed anything, I guess, is probably why".

"I'm feeling like I screwed that up with not telling you that", Carroll told reporters.

The Indianapolis Colts didn't report some of Andrew Luck's injuries two years ago and they weren't punished, so it never made sense that the National Football League would punish the Seahawks when Sherman was seemingly in no danger of not playing through his injury. I don't know. He was fine about it.
