Sears, Kmart Join Other Retailers in Dropping Trump-Branded Merchandise

Trump Home, owned by the Trump Organization, was reportedly not available on either site and didn't appear under a search for Trump Home items.

Sears Holdings implied that other, non-Trump Home items had also been removed as part of its "initiative to optimize its online product assortment".

Neiman Marcus removed the brand landing page from its website, and declined to tell CNNMoney whether it meant to keep Ivanka Trump products in stores or resume online sales in the future. On Saturday a spokesperson for Sears Holdings Corporation said the two chains would no longer sell Trump Home items in their online stores. That, in turn, prompted President Donald Trump to take to Twitter to defend his daughter-raising numerous questions regarding nepotism and conflicts of interest.

On Saturday, the Wall Street Journal reported that sales of Trump's merchandise at Nordstrom had dropped sharply prior to the 2016 election. "She is a great person - always pushing me to do the right thing!"

Nordstorm fired back, reiterating that the decision to pull the clothing line was based on performance.

Nordstrom, in announcing the discontinuation of Ivanka Trump's line last week, said sales had "steadily declined to the point where it didn't make good business sense" to continue selling the products.

"In [Conway's] attempt to do Trump's bidding, she may have crossed one of the people closer to Trump than herself-Ivanka Trump. We've had open conversations with them over the past year to share what we've seen and Ivanka was personally informed of our decision in early January". Sears and Kmart are the latest retailers to drop a product line associated with the Trump family.

Similarly, Neiman Marcus last week said in a statement that it has "a very small Ivanka Trump precious jewelry business which is comprised 100 percent of consigned merchandise (merchandise owned by the vendor)".
