IOS 11 may be dropping support for 32-bit apps

TechCrunch points out that Apple in September past year opened up its App Store "in a limited manner" for Iran-based companies and developers as they registered as "out of Iran" to get into the App Store. There are still a large number of 32-bit apps in the App Store that have not been updated for a long time. The message claims that the App Store is now unavailable in Iran, and apps facilitating transactions for businesses or entities based in Iran may not comply with the Iranian Transactions Sanctions Regulations. Over 40 million smartphones, or which six million are iPhones, are now used by Iranians.

As per Techresa, Apple has sent a note to the Iranian startups, who want to upload apps. Many companies register their apps as being outside of Iran to be able to get onto the store, reported TechCrunch.

Reports coming out of Iran suggest that Apple has been removing Iranian apps from the App Store. Digikala serves around 750,000 unique visitors a day, and accounts for over 80% of Iran's e-commerce. Most people are under the age of 30 in Iran, which is pretty incredible considering that there are over 82 million people in the country. "We encourage you to resubmit your application once worldwide trade laws are revised to allow this functionality", it adds. When it comes to Apple, the company loves the Iran market due to how most of the 82 million in the country are under the age of 30, which means they are hungrier for the technology and smartphones.

However, Iran has no official app store for iOS as of now. The site noted that it was probably removed from the App Store as part Apple's seemingly new policy. Apple has supported 64-bit apps since the release of the iPhone 5S back in 2013 and has required developers to submit new applications with 64-bit support since February 2015 and app updates since June 2015.

The response further added that developers and companies based in Iran can resubmit their applications after global trade laws are revised. In addition to that, in order to make sure that the users do not worry about it, the message adds that the developer of the app needs to update the compatibility of that application.
