Winter weather advisory issued for upper Cumberland Plateau

Little to no snow is expected to accumulate in Middle Tennessee on Sunday, but forecasters say you might see some flurries.

All in all, we expect a pretty nice day Sunday, with a mixture of clouds and sunshine, and light to moderate westerly winds. Any accumulation in the north should be less than an inch.

Monday will gradually become sunny with a high around 40 degrees.

The rest of the mountains and valleys in western North Carolina will see a rain/snow mix and will provide at least a snow dusting, if not a little more, so use caution if traveling up there today!

Local cities are included in a special weather message issued by the weather service which reports the snow and rain will be mixed at times this morning.

Those are likely to be mixed with rain in the early morning, before 9 a.m., and again in the evening, according to the National Weather Service in Nashville.

A stronger snowstorm is expected to follow on Tuesday and hit northern New Jersey, AccuWeather reported.
