Three Nuggets have been selected for the Rising Stars Challenge

Philadelphia 76ers rookie center Joel Embiid and NY forward Kristaps Porzingis will spark the World squad against the United States lineup at the NBA Rising Stars Challenge, the league announced Wednesday. Porzingis has missed time of late with Achilles woes, but the big fella still averages 19 points, seven rebounds and almost two blocks in 33.7 minutes of play for the Knicks.

Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns are ready for their in-game, three-point shootout. The former lottery pick is averaging six points a night, nearly two rebounds and two assists per game while rotating between the backup and No. 3 point guard spots most of the season. The starters for this year's NBA All-Star Game have already been selected, but Towns could find out Thursday if he's been selected to the Western Conference All-Star team. He's the first Spurs player to be selected for the Rising Stars Challenge since Kawhi Leonard in 2013. The game, previously known as the Rookie-Sophomore game, now features first and second year players split between a United States and an worldwide team.
