Google I/O 2017 developer event will be held on 17-19 May

On January 25, The Google Developers published what seems like a Sudoku-type puzzle and wrote, "Around the world, from here to there, to the most clever minds, the secret will share".

It's around this time of year that Google announces the date and venue for its annual developer conference, Google I/O.

After taking the name of the countries in those locations and placing them onto a chess board and then doing a little math, you come up with a jumble of letters that's easily unscrambled to reveal Shoreline Amphitheatre.

The software giant usually offers a look at the latest mobile operating system to developers early, and announces the upcoming features, though the final build rolls out towards the end of the year. It's the second year that Google has held its developer conference outdoors.

While the I/O Website has now been updated to 2017, registration for the event hasn't opened yet. Some speculations point towards a new version of the Pixel and Daydream, although Google has stayed away from major hardware-related announcements at this event.
